About
Hoo am i?
Lizzy Hoo is many things – a writer, noodle enthusiast, designer, actor, sports lover, and rescue greyhound owner. Lizzy is also a stand-up comedian who has rapidly become one of Australia’s most exciting new voices. Lizzy recently released her first special on Prime Video Hoo Cares!?
Lizzy only started doing stand-up in 2017, originally as a way to gain more self-confidence. Safe to say it worked out pretty well. She quickly found herself an NSW State Finalist in the national RAW Comedy competition. The very next year she was invited to perform at the prestigious Just For Laughs Festival at the Sydney Opera House, with her spot broadcast on Network Ten and Foxtel’s Comedy Channel and Channel 10.
In 2021, 2022 and 2023 she performed at the Oxfam Gala and to sold out audiences at Melbourne Comedy Festival and Sydney Comedy Festival.
Lizzy has appeared on Have You Been Paying Attention?, The Project and The Cook Up with Adam Liaw, The Cheap Seats, Question Everything and has been a presenter and contributor for Sydney Morning Herald, The Age, SBS Voices and ABC Everyday.
The confidence of a title fighter who has won before she’s even set foot in the ring.
